Professional development is important in every career. For child care providers, professional development not only offers the opportunity to expand knowledge but also allows networking with others in the field.

Professional Development Opportunities at 4Cs

Health and Safety Classes

4Cs offers CPR, first aid and preventative health practices classes. These classes fulfill the 16-hour health and safety training requirement for licensing. Providers also need to renew their first aid and CPR certification every two years. Visit our professional development calendar for upcoming training dates.

Training and Professional Development

4Cs offers a variety of workshops and training for all providers. Topics include business and administration of programs, nutrition, curriculum and activities for children, positive discipline, developmental screening, and caring for children with special needs. These trainings are offered at no or very low cost. Please view our professional development calendar for upcoming trainings.

Family Child Care Support

4Cs offers a variety of support for Family Child Care (FCC) providers, from those who are just beginning to veteran FCC providers  Our Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) provides training and assistance for potential, new, and experienced providers. Quality Counts San Mateo County

Quality Counts San Mateo County is a program that helps improve early learning program quality by setting standards for quality, measuring early learning programs using these standards, and providing quality improvement support based on areas where the programs want to grow.
