First ever collaboration between 4Cs and Help A Mother Out distributes 1,000 boxes of diapers to families in need.

On Saturday December 14th, the Child Care Coordinating Council of San Mateo County (4Cs) partnered with Help A Mother Out (HAMO) to distribute 1,000 boxes of diapers to families in need.  Each family received 2 boxes of diapers and a book for every child in their family. Serving a total of 500 children and over 300 families, we hope this will be the first of many partnerships between our two agencies who share a common mission of supporting families with young children.

Families shared how impactful it was to have diapers provided for their children, especially around the holiday season when budgets become increasingly tight.  A single box of diapers costs an average of $40. For families that received the free diapers, having this expense covered allowed them to put some money back into their budgets to buy presents or cover other basic needs for their children.

We are so appreciative of Help A Mother Out for their mission and their partnership. We also want to thank Communities Overcoming Relationship Abuse (CORA) and Life Moves, whose partnership enabled us to provide diapers to families experiencing homelessness.

Here are some pictures of the incredibly rewarding and successful day. Special thanks to all the Board members and staff (and their children) from both our agencies who volunteered at the event.
