This is a series of 5 sessions to prepare you to have a successful Family Child Care Business.

Participants are encouraged to attend all five sessions but some exceptions can be made with prior notice.

Light breakfast is included. Lunch and Childcare will not be included.

Session two will inform you of all the details you need to know the basics after getting licensed. Topics that will be covered are as follows:
  • Emergency Preparedness: Go over what to do in each disaster. Talk about what to put in an emergency bag and practice the drills.
  • Setting up the Environment: When and how you participants start to set up the environment for your childcare and talk about quality care.
  • Contracts: Talk about the importance of having a contract and the key points that should be included in each contract.
  • Parent Handbook: Go over parent handbook and why some providers choose to have one. Go over the key points that should be included in parent handbooks.
