Learn about the biting phase of child development and the reasons why young children bite. Discussion will include information on intervention strategies to use at home and at preschool. Helpful suggestions for interacting with and involving parents when dealing with a biting issue will also be shared.

Presented By: Sylvia Ford M.A., Early Childhood Consultant
Sylvia has been working with children and families in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years. She conducts educational seminars and provides many other services for parents, including private consultations that give parents information on child development. Sylvia specializes in working with preschool staffs, helping teachers to improve environments, activities, discipline techniques etc… She also conducts child observations in order to help families and schools better understand difficult behaviors and developmental norms of individual children. As a member of the faculty at Skyline College, Sylvia has been teaching courses in early childhood education since 1996.
